MB: I only got to see Four Finger Salute and they were tremendous, surely they deserve a Saturday night?

Saturday 27th August 2016 : Rewired are an interesting band performing unusual interpretations of various covers but also some excellent traditional and more familiar versions as the night goes on. Their Oasis covers are uncannily reminiscent of the band in its early days.

MB: A bit loud and very thrash metal sounding on several tracks, not to their usual high standard.

MB: Not at all bad once we could hear them! Their problem was, quite simply, the lack of power going down the bar, once the crowd started to thin out later on it became much more pleasant. Next time use Balding Bloke and listen to the difference.

MB: I heard the last three tracks of Luxury Stranger, sorry, I just don't "get it"! Years Young were superb, a bit louder than normal bands with quality musicianship and vocals. How would I describe them? A cross between Yes, Genesis and Mumford & Sons, go see them and make up your own mind.

MB: Do I need to say, oh dear? I have no idea of their musicianship since it simply could not be heard further than the mosh pit and the lead vocals sounded like someone singing in an empty swimming pool. The Kings has serious sound engineering expertise on-hand, ask for it!

MB: Oh dear ... again? Not badly played, not badly sung plus the sound was acceptable however their song arrangements were poor, there was no pizzaz until right towards the end of the night with Mony, Mony, quite simply everything was too slow and boring, like playing a 45 at 33⅓.

MB: Oh dear what an appalling sound with a strange droning low bass vibration, mostly unintelligible vocals and no discernible guitars. The songs choices seemed to be ok and the drums were evident however a repeat visit seems unlikely without a radical sound engineering re-think!
